Easy Weight Loss
Are you tired of being overweight? Have your previous attempts at dieting ended in failure?Do you feel like your weight makes you stand out from the crowd? Or have you resigned to being overweight?
For all of us, how we look and feel has a major affect on how we feel about ourselves and how self-confident we are. Carrying extra weight can also leave us feeling lethargic and de-motivated. Don't worry. With a little effort and a positive attitude you could be slimmer, healthier and happier in just a couple of months. In the following paragraphs I will show you how you can lose weight the healthy way without having to turn your life upside down.
In many ways, weight gain is a vicious cycle. Overeating can often cause feelings of guilt. And these feelings only cause use to eat more. If you want to lose weight you must escape this unhealthy cycle.
When it comes down to it, healthy weight loss requires two simple things - a healthy diet and regular exercise. Many people try to lose weight with restrictive diets but I do not recommend these. If you want to be successful, you need a more flexible approach.
This type of dieting calls for many changes at once and although most people are able to stick with this for a short while, they usually find they can’t sustain it. Unfortunately, the feeling of failure creeps in and leaves us feeling worse than when we started to lose weight. This kind of failure does little to boost your confidence.
With restrictive diets, the sudden shock of having your diet limited so dramatically can make it very hard to cope. Not being able to eat the foods we enjoy the most only makes us want them more.
The trick is to adopt a balanced approach to your eating and health, and to take things at your own pace. It is all about leading a healthy lifestyle that you can sustain. At first at least, you need to make small changes to your diet that you are comfortable with.
Every change you make, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction. In fact, small changes are a good idea, especially at the beginning. Any changes you make should not leave you feeling too deprived. So, for example, you could start with a simple change by eating muesli for breakfast every day instead of a high-sugar cereal. A small change like this shouldn't be too hard to adjust to. After a couple of weeks it should become natural. Even small changes like this can make a big difference.
Once you have become comfortable with the one small change, it is time to add another. Maybe you want to take a step towards becoming more active. A good first step would be to arrange to meet with a personal trainer twice a week at your local gym. Now, maintain this for a week or two and move onto your next step. Two small changes won't make a huge difference but you should already have lost a little weight, and be feeling healthier and happier.
You need to develop the right habits to lose weight successfully. Once these habits become natural to you, you should be able to reach and maintain your desired weight with little effort.
Making the changes necessary in your life to lose weight can be challenging at times so be sure to celebrate every small success. Too often we simply forget about the great things we achieve. So, focus on what you do well in this process, not on the things you could have done better.
Be sure to write down your successes so you can look back over them in the future. Writing down your successes will remind you of what you have achieved and you can look back over them when you need some encouragement.
More than anything else, breaking bad habits that you have had for a long time is all about your frame of mind. You need to stay positive so be aware of your thoughts. Your attidude towards your weight and health will most likely show up in the results.
If you think things like "I will never be slim" or "This is too difficult" your chances of success aren't good. However, if you think positive thoughts you will be surprised at the results you can achieve.
The only person who can come up for the perfect weight loss plan for you, is you. You will have to set goals that you can achieve comfortably and at your own pace.
This will give you a much better of chance of success than following a diet devised by someone else. Only you will know your own limits so you need to do this on your own terms, not somebody else's.
Nobody is perfect. Everybody loses focus from time to time and the chances are that you will too. If this happens to you, don't let it get you down. But it is important that you resume your new healthy eating and exercising patterns as quickly as possible so old bad habits don't take hold again. Also, try to identify what caused you to lose focus on your new diet. Maybe you were unhappy or worried. If you can pinpoint what caused the slip-up it should be a lot easier to prevent it from happening again.
When it comes to breaking bad habits, the first couple of weeks can often seem easier because motivation is high and there is a certain novelty factor. However, maintaining this motivation in the long-term can be very difficult. Your motivation for losing weight could be something like wanting to fit into clothes you wore two years ago or wanting to be able to swim greater distances. Take note of these and refer to them any time you need some extra motivation. This will help you keep it up, even through the hard times.
