 Free Weight Loss

Do you feel it is time for you to do something about your weight? Have you tried different diets but find that nothing seems to work for you?Does your weight damage your self-confidence? Or do you feel like anything you do to tackle your weight will make no difference?

For all of us, how we look and feel has a major affect on how we feel about ourselves and how self-confident we are. Carrying extra weight can also leave us feeling lethargic and de-motivated. Don't worry. With a little effort and a positive attitude you could be slimmer, healthier and happier in just a couple of months. In the following paragraphs I will show you how you can lose weight the healthy way without having to turn your life upside down.

Weight gain can be a vicious circle. The more we eat the more unhappy we feel. And these feelings only cause use to eat more. If you want to lose weight you must escape this unhealthy cycle.

When it comes down to it, healthy weight loss requires two simple things - a healthy diet and regular exercise. You may have had some success in the past with restrictive diets, but for me this is the wrong approach. For the most part, restrictive diets end in failure.

A restrictive diet will help you lose weight over a short period of time, but it is unlikely that you will be able to sustain this in the long-term. And any failed diet will only make you less likely to try again in the future. This will only damage your self-confidence further.

One of the biggest problems with restrictive diets is that they leave us with the feeling that we are missing out. The fact that you can't have the foods you want only makes you want them more.

The trick is to adopt a balanced approach to your eating and health, and to take things at your own pace. Your weight-loss plan should be for life, not just for a few weeks. The secret is to change your diet and exercise habits one step at a time so you do not feel overwhelmed.

These need not be major changes. In fact, these changes should be kept small and manageable. Any changes you make should not leave you feeling too deprived. So, for example, you could start with a simple change by eating muesli for breakfast every day instead of a high-sugar cereal. A change like this will take a little getting used to but you will soon adapt. Give it a little time and it will feel like a natural part of your life. In fact, even a small change like this should leave you feeling healthier.

As soon as you think you are comfortable with one change you should maintain the momentum by making another. Maybe this time concentrate on exercise. So, you could start by simply taking a short walk every day. Keep this going until it feels like a normal part of your daily life. Even after these two small changes you should already see a difference in your weight.

Successful and healthy weight loss is about developing the right habits. When these habits become a part of your everyday routine, losing weight should no longer be a chore.

It is important to keep track of the progress you are making and to celebrate your achievements regularly. Too often we simply forget about the great things we achieve. Concentrate on your successes, not on your failures.

Also, you should write down every success in a journal and a list and keep it close at hand. Writing down your successes will remind you of what you have achieved and you can look back over them when you need some encouragement.

To do away with your old bad habits and to adopt new, healthy ones you have to be in the right frame of mind. You need to stay in a positive frame of mind so do not leave any negative thoughts creep in. If you can keep a positive outlook on losing weight you will almost certainly be successful.

Negative thoughts such as "This will never work" or "Diets don't work for me" will make it much harder to lose weight. However, positive thoughts like "This will help me lead a healthier, happier life" or "This is not as difficult as I thought it would be" will increase your chances of success.

I always say that only you can decide on the right weight loss plan for you. With a little experimentation you should be able to identify the steps that you can take comfortably that will help you lose weight.

Doing this, you are much more likely to be successful than if you try to follow a specific diet devised by someone else. If you approach weight loss on your own terms your chances of success are much higher.

Nobody is perfect. It is likely that you will slip up on occasion and eat more than you should or lose your motivation to exercise. Just one small slip up doesn't mean you have failed, so don't let it discourage you. However, you need to resume your healthy diet and exercise patterns as soon as possible. Also, ask yourself why you did slip up in the first place. Maybe you were having a particularly stressful day or you received some bad news? If you can identify what made you overeat or stop exercising you have a good chance of preventing it from happening in the future.

However, maintaining this motivation for months, or even years, can be a different matter. It is when we try to keep this level of motivation up over long periods of time that we experience problems. This could be things like increased self confidence, the clothes you will be able to wear, or just feeling healthy. Write these down and keep them somewhere handy so you can look at them anytime you feel like you need a motivation boost. This will definitely help you through the tough times.
